Kristy Fisher's Beaver Island Classroom from the Leelanau Children's Center took a hike at Whaleback this fall. The kids were captivated by the little hiker man discs on trees along the trail, and wrote this song and performed it along with Doug Hansen. The Walking Man is sung to the tune of The Muffin Man — here are the words!
Chorus Have you seen the walking man, The waking man, the walking man. Have you seen the walking man Along the Whaleback Trail.
Yes, we've seen the walking man, The walking man, the walking man. Yes, we've seen the walking man Along the Whaleback Trail.
Verse He's got a knap sack, He's got a walking stick, He's got a cap with a visor, I wonder if his name is Nick. Old Saint Nick? I don't think so!
Chorus
