Proxy Bids
If you are interested in an item, but you can't attend the event, you may participate by placing a "proxy bid." Here's how proxy bidding works. You tell us how high you're willing to go on your chosen item and we will have a representative there to bid for you.
Your highest bid may not even be necessary to win your item. Example: Say you're really interested in a particular painting. When the online auction closes on August 5, you are the high bidder at . You can't come to the picnic but are willing to go as high as . The night of the picnic, the painting gets bid up to just before the auction closes. Your proxy bidder puts you down for the minimum raise amount required, in this case, , and so that is what you end up paying. If you win, we will arrange for pickup or shipping of your item (Shipping costs are not included in the bid price.)
