Leelanau involves the senses

For me, so much about Leelanau involves the senses.  I look at this photo and I hear the gulls, smell the water, feel the sun on my shoulders, and wish for a breeze!

Leelanau is for fishing!

There are many lakes throughout Leelanau.
I have fished plenty of them too.
There is one lake, however, the holds a special place in my heart.
This little gem is called School Lake.

We spend a week or two every year in Omena, where my wife’s family owns a cottage on Lake Michigan. The family (William Mack) has owned property in Omena for well over 100 years. This photo is of Sunflowers at Sutton’s Bay Farmers Market, September, 2007.
