This picture shows our favorite campsite on North Manitou and views taken from it. One more reason why Leelanau is one of my very favorite places to visit in the world.

Hiking on North Manitou Island

By Leelanau Conservancy at 9:00 am on Friday, May 2, 2008

My son and I have really enjoyed our camping adventures on North Manitou Island! Making time for just a few days together has been great!  My mother instilled her love of the outdoors and nature in us both as we hiked the Northwest where she lived for many years.  This area is every bit as beautiful!

Leelanau involves the senses

For me, so much about Leelanau involves the senses.  I look at this photo and I hear the gulls, smell the water, feel the sun on my shoulders, and wish for a breeze!
