…and I definitely will return come spring. Those huge birches were amazing, as was this maple. With blue skies and warm temperatures, this was a perfect introduction to a very special place.

Twilight hike

By Leelanau Conservancy at 9:07 am on Tuesday, February 9, 2010

We hosted a twilight snowshoe hike and gathering at our home for 12 over the holidays, which was part of the 2009 Conservancy Auction. We began with a lantern lit snowshoe hike through Houdek Dunes, with music playing along the trail. Conservancy Board Member Warren Watkins led the hike and did a fantastic job. Afterward, we gathered for wine, hors d’oeuvres and good cheer.

Ed. Note: By all accounts, everyone had a great time at this unique event!—C. Faught, staff auction coordinator.
