North Manitou Island Visit

By Leelanau Conservancy at 9:55 am on Wednesday, August 13, 2008

My son and I have really enjoyed our camping adventures on North Manitou Island! Making time for just a few days together has been great! My mother instilled her love of the outdoors and nature in us both as we hiked the Northwest where she lived for many years. This area is every bit as beautiful!

North Manitou's lilacs and butterflies

By Leelanau Conservancy at 1:00 pm on Thursday, July 3, 2008

On my last backpack trip to North Manitou in late June the lilacs and flowering trees were still blooming with butterflies everywhere. It is such a beautiful place….really God's country!

North Manitou day

By Leelanau Conservancy at 1:20 pm on Tuesday, June 17, 2008

A beautiful wetland on North Manitou (a great place for lunch!) and Manitou Lake (where the fishing is great…so they tell me).
