Leelanau wildlife

By Leelanau Conservancy at 2:45 pm on Monday, November 24, 2008

We recently camped at the Grand Traverse Lighthouse (Leelanau State Park) and we hiked along the shore and saw the great blue heron, he was so docile or old but he barely moved while we observed him and took photos. It was taken Oct 24 at Leelanau State Park.

Skiing the Bay View Trail

By Leelanau Conservancy at 2:43 pm on Monday, November 24, 2008

I’ve been going to Leelanau County since I was a child (Camp Innisfree). I love it so much, my wife and I just bought a home near Glen Arbor (closed last month). I have thousands of photos from my 2-3 per year vacations to the area. Thanks for helping protect this part of the planet.

Here are a few of my favorite pictures of last year. We love Leelanau County for its beauty. There are so many different types of scenery that just say…….wow! A sunset, mist over a lake, a spider's web, a river, the beaches. It just IS Leelanau!

Snowman in Leelanau spotted

By Leelanau Conservancy at 2:40 pm on Monday, November 24, 2008

We vacation in Leelanau County 2-3 times per year. Sometimes we stay in a wonderful cottage on Little Traverse Lake. We thank our family and friends of Leelanau County (Lake Leelanau & Maple City) for always making our vacations a wonderful experience no matter when we come up, summer or winter.
