Wildflower research at Chippewa Run

By Leelanau Conservancy at 9:37 pm on Tuesday, September 30, 2008

This photo is from a walk at Chippawa Run Natural Area with docents David Harris and Lou Ricord. My husband, Max, was conferring with Lou's daughter, Bonnie, about some plant species. The land is so beautiful and everyone in the group was so committed to maintaining the land and enjoying nature.

South Manitou

By Leelanau Conservancy at 9:28 pm on Tuesday, September 30, 2008

Each visit to South Manitou Island leaves me with a different impression. This year conditions and our timing (late July) were perfect for a colorful display of flowers along the roads and at this farm.
