This picture was taken in August of 2007 at the top of Miller Hill off of Dunns Farm Road. I used to live in the county and graduated from Glen Lake. I live in Traverse City now and just happened to take a trip out there on a night when the sunset was amazing. I miss Leelanau County everyday, especially the experience of sunsets like this one.

Leelanau is a wonderful place in all four seasons, and winter is very special. As you ski, snowshoe, hike, or sled, you see snow covered evergreens, fascinating drift patterns, undisturbed landscapes, and ice covered lakes. It's beautiful, peaceful, and serene.

I love Leelanau because it is such a beautiful place. It has amazing scenery as well as being an incredible place to bike. I feel lucky to be able to live where most people must come for vacations. This picture was taken September 3, 2007 overlooking Glen Lake.
